Ever wanted to have organized groups for your After Effects layers? The good folks from Goodmotion developed this really neat plugin that allows you to do just that called GM FoldLayers. It allows you to have foldable and collapsable group “folders” for your messy composition layers, giving you the ability to quickly hide certain groups without completely disabling them from the composition.
You can also organize your group by color. Simply change the color of the “group folder,” and the rest of the hierarchy will also change to the same color, allowing you to visually see your groups together. This is a fantastic little plugin for After Effects, something that should’ve been implemented inside the application a long time ago.
GM FoldLayers is currently in a free beta stage, so you can grab and give this plugin a try right now! The Mac version is already out, but the Windows version will be out August 20th, 2012. Remember, this is still in beta so there might be some unexpected issues. Please send all bugs to: tools@goodmotion.se
I’m definitely going to be purchasing this plugin when it’s released as it’s such a useful and handy little tool for project management. So what are your thoughts on this plugin? Would you buy something like this? Let me know in the comments below!
